- Namcha Barwa (Tibet)
Namcha Barwa, located in Nyingchi of Tibet Autonomous Region, is the holy land of Yong Zhong Ben Jiao, a sect of the oldest Tibetan Buddhism. The mountain is 7,782 meters high and is reputed as “the father of Tibetan Mountains”. The precipitous peaks and the perennial ice and snow slides catch the attention of mountaineering lovers in the world. It is the paradise in the clouds.
Best travel time: Oct to Apr (less rain, with dry and cool air and clear visibility).
2. Gongga Mountain (Sichuan)
Gongga Mountain, also known as Minya Konka, is the highest mountain in Sichuan Province with an elevation of 7,556 meters. It is known as “The King of Shu(stands for Sichuan province) Mountains”. Situated in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Region, Gongga Mountain is the main peak of the Daxueshan Mountain ranges. Under the impact of maritime monsoon, the glaciers here develop in a large scale. The precipitous cliffs of 60 to 70 degree are surrounded by glaciers, which makes it harder for climbers to get to the top of the mountain. This is the place where the winds stop to rest.

3. Mount Qomulangma (Tibet)
Mount Qomulangma, also known as “Mount Everest”, is the main peak on Himalayas, also the highest mountain on the earth. Its altitude is 8,848 meters (29,029 foot) and is also the fifth furthest peak from the center of earth. It is located on the border between China and Nepal, which runs directly over its summit. It is regarded as the soul’s sentinel.

4. Meili Snow Mountain (Yunnan)
Meili Snow Mountain (Meri Snow Mountain) , located in Deqin County of Yunnan Province, it is a giant group of south – north direction snow mountain ranges. It is situated at the area where Nujiang River, Jinsha River and Lancang River meet. Its highest peak is Kawagebo, which is 6,740 meters high, pyramid-shaped and is considered as the Goddess of the Meili Snow Mountain by locals. Due to cultural protection, it has never been climbed till now.
Best travel time: Oct to Jan (pure air, fine weather and clear visibility).
5.Yellow Mountain (Anhui)
Also known to as Mount Huangshan, it is located in the Huangshan City, Anhui Province. It covers an area of about 1,200 square kilometers, and the scenic area covers 160 square kilometers. This mountain is renowned for peculiar pines, fantastic rocks, sea of clouds and crystal-clear hot springs. There are 72 miraculous peaks with their names indicating the shapes they resemble including the Lianhua Peak (Lotus Peak), the highest one of 1,864 meters, the Guangmingding (Bright Summit Peak), the most famous one, with an altitude of 1,860 meters, and the Tiandu Peak (Celestial Capital Peak), the most dangerous one, which is 1,810 meters high. Yellow Mountain is described as the God’s minature landscape.

6. Chogori Peak (Xinjiang)
Chogori Peak, situated in the center of Karakoram Mountains, Yecheng County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is also called “K2”. “K” refers to Karakoram, while “2” refers to “the second investigated peak of Karakoram mountains”. In Tajik language, “Chogori” means “high, great and magnificent”. For the international circle of climbers, it is commonly known as “K2”. Chogori Peak is the second highest peak in the world, ranking only second to Qomulangma. It is 8,611 meters high and is harder to climb than Qomulangma, therefore, it is also renowned as “inhuman giant peak”.
Peaks on the Karakoram Mountains are intensive. There are four internationally famous peaks with an altitude of more than 8,000 meters. Chogori Peak is included. Three other peaks are: Broad Peak of 8,051 meters, Gasherbrum Peak of 8,068 meters and Gasherbrum II Peak of 8,035 meters.

7. Three Holy Mountains in Daocheng (Sichuan)
Situated in Daocheng County, Sichuan Province, the Three Holy Mountains cover an area of over 1,000 square kilometers. They are separated, but in short distance. They are Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Xianuoduoji. Xiannairi is the main peak in Daocheng scenery area and the fifth highest mountain in Sichuan with an altitude of 6,032 meters. Xiannairi is believed to be the incarnation of the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy－Guanyin or Avalokitesvara. Yangmaiyong is thought to be the incarnation of Manjusri and Xianuoduoji is the incarnation of Vajrapani. These three mountains area has been a sacred place for Tibetan Buddhism since ancient times.

8. Mount Kailash (Tibet)
Situated between Kunlun Mountains and Himalayas, Mount Kailash, also known as Kangrinboqe, belongs to Transhimalaya range in Tibet. It is one of the four sacred mountains for Tibetan Buddhism in China. Mount Kailash is commonly known as a sacred mountain in the world and is also regarded as “the center of the world” by Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, Yong Zhong Ben Jiao sect of Tibetan Buddhism and ancient Jainism. 9. Mount Tai (Shandong)

10. Mount Emei (Sichuan)
Mount Emei is located in Leshan city, southwest of Sichuan basin. It covers an area of 154 square kilometers. Ten Thousand Buddhas Summit (Wanfo Peak), the highest peak on Mount Emei, is 3,099 meters high. Mount Emei is one of the four famous Buddhist Mountains in China; on the mountain are 26 temples, where Buddhist activities are frequently held.
