Trekking on Longji Rice Terrace: 01:00PM
Enjoy a hike up to the summit of the Longji Rice Terrace at an altitude of 2,886 ft (880 m). A half-hour hike offers an amazing panoramic vista of this incredible feat of farm engineering. The ethnic minorities moved to these mountains during the Yuan dynasty and, as they are mainly an agricultural society, they created the rice terraces so they could continue farming on the side of the mountains. View from the peak, the Terraced Rice Fields resemble the backbone of a dragon, twisting and turning into the distance. The terraces divide the mountain into multiple layers. Watering the fields starts every April, planting in June and harvest comes during late September. You could find a special panoramic view from May to September. Photograph lovers must not miss this. Your tour guide would gladly lead you to the best spots with panoramic views.
