I see myself as a real local guide as I was born and raised here in Beijing. This city is my home and I love to share it with people from all over the world. Like any local I want people to leave here in love with my hometown. I find that hearing about old Beijing and true stories of local people is far more interesting than me reciting facts from a book.
Many years ago, when I was a very young boy, my family lived in a traditional hutong courtyard with 12 other families. At that time my father earned just 130rmb per month. Then, it made us the richest family of the 12; now, it can barely buy us a coffee at Starbucks! We lived the east side of the hutong, and on the west lived China’s last emperor Pu Yi. I remember him only as a little old man moving slowly down the courtyard. He died in 1967 when I was just 6 years old, so I can’t say I knew him very well.
I have now been a local and national tour guide for over 20 years and I still love doing this job. This job has allowed me to meet so many interesting and lovely people from all over the world. I enjoy the cultural exchange, like picking up new language skills.
Working with GuideWeTravel allows me to share my Beijing with travellers, as I am able to make recommendations and help you to work out your trip.
When you come to China I’ll take you to the best Xinjiang restaurant in Beijing!

What I Offer:
I often take Muslim tour groups, as a Muslim myself I am able to show them this side of China and can share my understanding of the community here. However it doesn’t matter whether we share the same religion, nationality or anything; people can get along no matter whom they are. I think the idea that The world is a global village is very true, more and more I meet people from all different backgrounds coming from all over the world.
