Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
Your flight will touch down in our capital city today. Our local professional guide and experienced driver will meet you outside the baggage claim area at the airport , and then transfer you to check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is for you to recover from the jet leg.
Day 2: High-speed Train Transfer from Beijing to Luoyang
After breakfast, You will take the high-speed train departure at around 8:30am, arriving in Luoyang at 13: 30 pm. The Luoyang guide and driver will meet you at train station. You will be accompanied to have lunch and then visit the Longmen Grottoes, which is one of the four most significant grottoes in China, famous for its huge number of Buddhist sculptures and carvings dating back 1,500 years. Appreciate the vivid Buddha statues and solemn architecture, get to know some historical stories and feel the spirit of Buddhism here.
Day 3: Luoyang to Xi’an (Shaolin Temple visiting)
Today you will visit the cradle of Chinese Kungfu at Shaolin Temple. Nestled among the dense forests of Songshan Mountain, Shaolin Temple gives you the chance to learn about the mystique of its martial arts and monks. Check out its renowned Kungfu Show at its theater, and enjoy a vegetarian lunch.
In the afternoon, transfer to train station for high speed train to Xi’an, which takes about 2 hours.

Xi’an – The ancient capital of China for thirteen dynasties and historic gateway to the old Silk Road trading route.
1. Xi’an Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show is listed on many “Top 10s” and your guide can help you buy a ticket.
2. A cost free alternative is a relaxing evening stroll in the parks and grounds of the Big and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. They look gorgeous at night.
Day 5: Soft sleeper train from Xi’an to Tianshui
You will be accompanied to board the train from Xi’an to Tianshui departure at around 8:00am, which takes around 3 hours. Upon arrival, the guide and driver will meet you and drive to visit the Maijishan Grottoes, which offer jaw-dropping view of rock cut architecture.
Day 6: Drive from Tianshui to Lanzhou
Free morning to have a rest. Please have a good preparation for the afternoon long time drive on the road. After lunch, our guide will meet you at hotel and transfer you from Tianshui to Lanzhou. The drive takes about 4 hours and you can have a feast for the eye of the vast northern China scenery. The guide will meet you and send you to hotel upon your arrival.
Day 7: Lanzhou: Cruise from Liujiaxia Gorge to Bingling Temple, White Pagoda Hill, Overnight train to Jiayuguan Pass
You will take a fast boat trip from Liujiaxia Gorge to Bingling Temple,which is a series of grottoes filled with Buddhist sculpture carved into natural caves and caverns in a canyon along the Yellow River. In wintertime it is inaccessible due to low water levels, but other attractions or experiences can be recommended to you.
A half hour climb of the White Pagoda Hill by the Yellow River will reward you with a wonderful view of Lanzhou City and the surrounding mountains.
In the evening your guide will take you to the railway station to board the overnight train to Jiayuguan Pass.
Day 8: Jiayuguan Pass: Great Wall on the cliff, Jiayuguan Pass, Great Wall Museum
After an early arrival to Jiayuguan Pass you will be picked up by your guide and taken to see the Great Wall on the cliff, also called the “Suspended Wall”. In this remote location the ridge necessitated building in such a steep angle, that it appears to half hang off the cliff. Nearby Jiayuguan Pass forms an impressive sight against the backdrop of magnificent mountains and the Gansu Corridor. The adjacent Great Wall Museum has a wide range of artifacts telling the story of the world’s longest wall.
Day 9: Drive to Dunhuang: Mogao Caves
Mogao Caves, also called Caves of the Thousand Buddhas, are a vast collection of temples and grottoes, housing many of the finest examples of Buddhist art spanning a period of 1,000 years. A local guide will lead visitors in group here so as to minimize the damage incurred to these delicate relics. There is something very special about visiting this site; it’s like stepping back in time.
Day 10: Dunhuang to Turpan: Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Lake, Riding on a camel, Departure by bullet train
The Echoing-Sand Mountain has been famous for centuries; the vast formation gives out an eerie hum in certain wind conditions. Crescent Lake between two dunes forms a lush oasis magically. Here you can ride a camel to feel what the Silk Road merchants experienced.
In the afternoon your guide will take you to Liuyuan train station to board the bullet train to Turpan, which will be around 4 hours.
Day 11: Turpan
Today, you will be picked up to see some of the ancient sights: Suleiman Minaret, the only ancient Islamic minaret left in China, and the Karez Wells, one of the three “great ancient projects” in China. The Karez Wells Folk Garden and Museum explains how the well system makes it possible for the famous orchards and vineyards to exist in these hot, dry desert communities. Following a lunch in an authentic Uygur restaurant you get to see the vineyards on your own.
The Ruins of the Ancient City of Jiaohe, built by the ancient Cheshi people on a large islet in the middle of a river , is also a good viewing point to the surrounding area.
We arrange for you to visit a local family who run a local vineyard, offering you a taste of local life.
Our guide and driver will transfer you from Turpan to Urumqi, where the Heavenly Lake awaits you. The view is one of a kind. The snow-capped peaks of the Heavenly Mountain reflect on the dazzling blue lake surface. A cruise on the Heavenly Lake is one way to appreciate its beauty. There is also a cable car going up the mountain side for an even better vantage point and some great walking paths.
Day 13: Departure from Urumqi
Our guide and driver will take you to Urumqi airport to catch your flight, and make sure your check-in goes smoothly.
