Longji Terrace is sometimes a combined name of the stunning terrace sights of several villages of Zhuang and Yao ethnic minorities in Guilin, among which the Jinkeng Village (or Jinkeng Dazhai Red Yao Terrace), the Ping’an Village (or Ping’an Zhuang Ethnic Minority Terrace) are two main sights. The Longji Ancient Zhuang Village is also getting more and more popular among tourists. Beside these three villages which are bigger, there are many other villages of ethinic minorities nearby developing their tourism.

Longji Terrace more often refers to the Longji Terrace of the Ping’an Village which is developed the earliest and the one with the best views, so it is the most popular one and the general conditions here in the village is more mature for tourists. Besides, it is more convenient for tourists to visit from Guilin City. The Terrace here is located at the Longji Hill, Ping’an Village, Longji Town of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is 22 kilometers away from the Longsheng County downtown and 80 kilometers away from the Guilin City.

Longji Terrace is a large terrace group with the highest elevation of 1,180 meters and the lowest elevation of 380 meters. It is a scenic area combining rice terrace culture with natural scenery, minority culture and folk custom.

What to See/Do: Three major terraces: Pingan Zhuang Terrace is the earliest developed terrace viewing area with gorgeous terrace fields and smooth terrace lines. It is also the place where Qixingbanyue scenic spot (Seven Stars Around the Moon) locates. Jinkeng Dazhai Red Yao Terrace is surrounded by hills and looks like a natural sky hole. This magnificent terrace is also gathered with villages where Red Yao people (The Red Yao are a branch of the Yao ethic group, but they possess a culture that is distinct from other Yao people: they live in banbianlou (semi-stilt houses); the women wear their hair long. ) live in. The hanging wooden buildings are built upon hills at Longji Ancient Zhuang Terrace and the surrounding terraces look like rings. This terrace area is the birthplace of Northern Zhuang minority of Guangxi Province, as well as the representative of stone inscription culture of Guangxi.
Other scenic spots: There are seven ancient houses with history of more than 100 years, as well as some other ancient villages. The peaceful and harmonious terrace scenery area and the insular ecological human settlements attract more and more tourists to spend holidays here. Tourists can eat and live in local families to release their pressure and get close to nature.

Public transport: You can take a coach from Guilin downtown to get to one of the three terraces (note: we suggest you return to Guilin downtown before 15:00 at daytime).
To Ping’an Village: Take a coach from Guilin to Longsheng County for 2 hours at 15RMB, and then take a shuttle bus at Longsheng County to Ping’an Park (Longji) for one hour at 6.5RMB, then walk 20 minutes to Ping’an Village. You can return to Guilin through the same route;
To Jinkeng Dazhai: Take a coach from Guilin to Longsheng County, and then take a shuttle bus at Longsheng County to Dahushan for one hour at 6.5 to 8RMB, and then take a minibus or a motorbike to Jinkeng Dazhai at 3RMB;
To Longji Ancient Zhuang Village: You can walk from Qixingbanyue scenic spot (Seven Star Around the Moon) of Ping’an Village for 40 minutes to Longji Ancient Zhuang Village.
